About

With a degree in Art and Design, and teaching, I knew I just had to get back to what I'm passionate about and that's how Maevann Art has come about. I have gained over a decade of teaching experience, working with kids of all ages in different capacities from Orton Gillingham math and language tutoring for elementary students, to teaching art in high school. I can't wait to bring both elements together and teach my favourite subject matter to the little artists we welcome to every lesson. My days at home with my two little girls have been filled with arts, crafts, sensory and messy play and I want to bring this experience and fun to our community. At Maevann art, I strive to inspire and encourage each student to express their ideas visually, while offering guidance in the creative process and offering a wide range of tools, mediums and artists to explore!
Hi! I'm Aisling, the creator of Maevann Art

Each program will include: an artist or art movement focus, a mixed media project, open ended sketching practice, and a 3D or relief project.
Students will also learn to speak about their own work and their peers work on the last day of each program, when we display and talk about each piece created before they bring it home.
I believe this is an important element that is sometimes missed. It gives students real insight into what they are accomplishing, and also sets them up with more confidence to talk in front of their peers.
Class sizes are kept small to allow each child to be heard and be supported in their work. While we work through all our projects, students are not only developing their artistic and creative skillsets, but also working on many other areas including: social skills, collaboration, problem solving, critical thinking, fine and gross motor skills and self expression.
